Patient Care

Short-Term Care
We offer short-stay respite care to give you, or your family, a short break. We also offer post-operative rehabilitative care, for people who need a further period of nursing and physiotherapy following surgery, or a recent hospital admission.

To discuss or arrange a short-stay admission, please telephone 01865 228873, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm

Long-Term Care
St Luke’s offers 24 hour long-term nursing care for frail, older people. The first four weeks of a long-stay admission are regarded as a trial period for the benefit of the patient and are charged at our prevailing minimum rate. During the trial period, to enable St Luke’s to provide the most appropriate level of care, the Matron carries out a comprehensive patient assessment, before advising the ongoing cost of care.

Pre-admission visits are advised and welcomed; appointments are offered Monday to Friday. To arrange a visit please telephone the administration department on 01865 228873, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

GP Services
Dr Gareth Jones is St Luke’s General Practitioner (GP) and provides the medical care for our patients. He carries out two ward rounds per week, and he and his colleagues provide an out-of-hours service. For short-stay patients, Dr Jones will liaise with your own GP or Hospital Consultant about your medical care, as appropriate.

Long-stay patients who wish to remain with their current GP may do so by arrangement.
