Anyone for tennis? Yes it's that time of the year when our attention focuses on a small part of London, in fact a very special famous club located in Wimbledon. Strawberries and cream were on the sidelines whilst our visitor from the Museum of Oxford took centre court discussing all things tennis. Residents enjoyed looking at a range of tennis antiquities including some very old racquets which got us reminiscing!
The matches have also been watched on a large screen TV in our living room by those residents who love to watch this fast paced, exhilirating sport.
Still on the sporting theme, we had a talk about the 'beautiful game' looking at a range of football artefacts from the Oxford Museum. The collection of football cards were enjoyed by many residents who remembered their own collections. We are all getting geared up now for the final matches of the Euro Championships coming soon!
And the last bit of our latest news was all about the stunning garden in the sunshine. A couple of weeks ago, we held the annual St Luke's Hospital Garden Party.
Residents, families, staff past and present and the charity's Trustees gathered in the garden to enjoy delicious refreshments and jazz from Oxford Classic Jazz - just lovely. www.classicjazz.co.uk
