What's been happening at St Luke's this spring?

Being located in Oxford certainly brings a lot of benefits for our patients. Many local groups really enjoy the opportunity to bring a little of their life into our life at St Luke's. After all, all of us, no matter our age, have the opportunity to learn new skills or try new experiences.

We had two very interesting visits recently - very different but so fascinating! The first visit was made by GLAM, the University of Oxford's museum outreach service. We are very fortunate to receive regaulr visits from their team and this time, they did not disappoint. The team brought some ancient Egyptian artefacts for us to look at. The tiny pot in the photograph is 3,000 years old and was used to hold kohl eyeliner - how incredible! Ladies wanted to look in those days just as much as we do now!

Our second visit that had a life of its own (pardon the pun), was made possible by Rebecca from Animal Club! She brought a whole host of animals with her- geckos, snakes and frogs. The chameleon was a beautiful green, one snake was called Ghost because it was pure white, and the heaviest was the boa which about seven feet in length!

There were a couple of furry creatures too - a tarantula and a chinchilla - however we only touched one of those! You'll not win any bets to guess which one.

We look forward to helping you with your enquiry,
